Arts Hotel Porto, Tapestry Collection by Hilton
International project references
The Arts Hotel Porto, Tapestry Collection by Hilton is a structure with undeniable charm and a very clear personality, albeit one articulated on two different, almost dichotomous emotionalities: ancient on the outside, with its 18th-century façade dominating the surrounding space, in the heart of Porto; sparkling, modern, luminescent on the inside, where the interior design concept is marked by an innovative taste, with strong experimental tones and a vision pregnant with references and fascinations.
Some background on the structure
Developed by Mercan Properties, the hotel opened its doors in April this year and it is in the heart of the city and absorbs its local identity, made up of seafaring evocations, multiple influences and a thousand-year history rich in events, encounters and transformations. Within walking distance of the hotel are some of Porto’s landmarks, such as the Coliseu Theater, Santo Ildefonso Church and the Sao Bento train station.
A strategic location, a popular venue for tourists and business travelers alike, the Tapestry Collection by Hilton is now a building that represents the city of Porto and contributes to embellishing the urban skyline, thanks in part to an angular location that makes it easily visible and recognizable.
Monteleone for Arts Porto, Tapestry Collection by Hilton
We were delighted to be involved in the design of the facility’s furniture: we were given the task of providing the mirrors that would adorn the rooms. The need was to provide solutions that were both aesthetically impactful, functional, and adept at optimizing room space.
From a design perspective, the hotel’s interiors offer a contemporary setting, enhanced by a discreet yet intense search for elements capable of breaking conventions and offering a specific, original, unique living experience.
We then looked for ideas that could meet the conceptualization and style of the environments, developing an ad hoc project: the choice fell on one of our most successful mirrors.
We opted for a design with circular suggestions, with perimeter lighting and attachment to the wall by means of a metal rod, welded to the ceiling as if it represented a natural continuation of it. The design is striking, soft, sinuously contemporary, with evocative lines. The steel shines, enhanced by LEDs and the mirror’s play of reflections. A solution that winks at the industrial style, chic and functional at the same time.
We show you the final result in our photos.
